Be An Encourager
Find ways to lift others up. You have people all around you who are hurting, weak, frail, disillusioned, disappointed in life, lonely, feeling forgotten and forsaken.
How can you be my hands and feet? How can you be my voice?
Romans 5:2 (NIV)
Each of us should please our neighbours for their good, to build them up.
Hebrews 10:24 (MEV)
And let us consider how to spur one another to love and to good works.
Ephesians 4:29-32 (TLB)
Don’t use bad language. Say only what is good and helpful to those you are talking to, and what will give them a blessing. Don’t cause the Holy Spirit sorrow by the way you live. Remember, he is the one who marks you to be present on that day when salvation from sin will be complete. Stop being mean, bad-tempered, and angry. Quarrelling, harsh words, and dislike of others should have no place in your lives. Instead, be kind to each other, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, just as God has forgiven you because you belong to Christ.
1 Peter 4:10 (NLV)
God has given each of you a gift. Use it to help each other. This will show God’s loving-favour.
Acts 20:35 (NLV)
We must remember what the Lord Jesus said, ‘We are more happy when we give than when we receive.’
Lord, help me to be what you need me to be to the people around me today. They need you. Help me to be an encourager. Help my hands be your hands today. Direct my feet to the right places and the people who need you most. Fill my heart with your compassion, fill my mind with your wisdom and fill my tongue with your words, in Jesus name. Amen.
Romans 15:13 (NCV)
I pray that the God who gives hope will fill you with much joy and peace while you trust in him. Then your hope will overflow by the power of the Holy Spirit.
