Pace Yourself
Days can get overwhelming and we can struggle to maintain a happy equilibrium when we allow ourselves to get stretched too thin.
How do we manage our time, our relationships, and prioritise? What expectations do we carry of ourselves and of others?
The need to pace yourself means you’re aware that pressures can control you. You might become impatient, anxious, worried, irritable, or not able to sleep. Perhaps you give in to demands and have too many time restrictions, too many things requiring your attention.
Pace yourself.
Take your basketful of stresses before the Lord and reprioritise your activities, your responsibilities, even your heart. Not everything that is good is necessary. Rest, seek God, and rethink.
Rest is important to the Lord. He created the Sabbath as a day of rest so that we would follow the principle. Giving yourself the rest, the quiet spaces, will enable you to bring more of yourself in better quantities to your life and your people.
1 Peter 5:7 (NCV)
Give all your worries to him, because he cares about you.
Colossians 3:15 (NLV)

Psalm 55:22 (NLT)
Give your burdens to the Lord, and he will take care of you. He will not permit the godly to slip and fall.
Proverbs 16:3 (NIV)
Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.
Matthew 11:28 (NCV)
“Come to me, all of you who are tired and have heavy loads, and I will give you rest.
When Jesus becomes our Sabbath rest, we realise our rest isn’t about a day, a time or a place, it’s about our mindset and the way we carry ourselves. In Him, is our rest, every day. In Him, is our peace, every moment. In Him, is our strength, to carry our load. In Him is our wisdom, to make good choices.
Seek Him until you find Him and He shows you how to pace yourself and live in His rest, carrying His peace. Meditate in Him and practise pacing yourself.
Psalm 46:10 (NASB1995)
"Cease striving and know that I am God;
