You’re Not What You Were
John 17:15-17 (NASB)
I am not asking You to take them out of the world, but to keep them away from the evil one. They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. Sanctify them in the truth; Your word is truth.
Psalm 121:1-2 (GWT)
I look up toward the mountains. Where can I find help? My help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth.
1 Corinthians 3:3 (GWT)
When you are jealous and quarrel among yourselves, aren’t you influenced by your corrupt nature and living by human standards?
Isaiah 43:19 (BSB)
Behold, I am about to do something new; even now it is coming. Do you not see it? Indeed, I will make a way in the wilderness and streams in the desert.
Ephesians 2:10 (NIV)
For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
2 Corinthians 3:12 (NLT)
Since this new way gives us such confidence, we can be very bold.
2 Corinthians 3:17-18 (NCV)
The Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. Our faces, then, are not covered. We all show the Lord’s glory, and we are being changed to be like him. This change in us brings ever greater glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.
I have brought you a long way. Can you recognise your journey in me? Where you were hedonistic and fickle, you are now faithful and constant. Where you were fearful you are now courageous. Where you would flee, you now take your position and stand your ground. Where you were shamed, you now have freedom and joy. Where you were apologetic, you see now that you buried your strength and authenticity. Leave behind fear and all that ensnared you – continue to feed yourself on my Word, which combats repeat offending against you. Your identity in me empowers you to be who I created you to be without apology. Continue to stand against the offense that the enemy makes against you. Be aware when that rises. Continue to stand against that control and move forward despite it. Always wait on me and let your identity in me direct your thoughts, your emotions, and your responses.
Proverbs 4:20-23 (NIV)
My son, pay attention to what I say; turn your ear to my words. Do not let them out of your sight, keep them within your heart; for they are life to those who find them and health to one’s whole body. Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.
You're on a journey. You're not what you were. Sit quietly and take some time to hear what God is saying to you today.
