Give Yourself

Whatever it is you do, throw your whole self into it without reservation. Put your whole heart into it. Think your best thoughts. Behave in the best way possible for whatever it is you are doing. All for the Lord Christ, who will bless the work of your hands and reward you with an inheritance.

Do everything with your whole heart and fill your heart with joy and gladness, as worship to the Lord God.

Colossians 3:23-24 (NET)

Whatever you are doing, work at it with enthusiasm, as to the Lord and not for people, because you know that you will receive your inheritance from the Lord as the reward. Serve the Lord Christ.

Proverbs 16:3 (NIV)

Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.

Psalm 90:17 (NLT)

And may the Lord our God show us his approval and make our efforts successful. Yes, make our efforts successful!

Proverbs 19:21 (AMP)

Many plans are in a man’s mind, But it is the Lord’s purpose for him that will stand (be carried out).

Proverbs 3:5-6 (WEB)

Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

Various translations can emphasize a greater depth from its original text, so that we can meditate on its meaning for our lives with more fullness and clarity.

Psalm 37:23 (CEV)

If you do what the LORD wants, he will make certain each step you take is sure.

(GNT)

The LORD guides us in the way we should go and protects those who please him.

(NET)

The LORD grants success to the one whose behaviour he finds commendable.

(NLT)

The LORD directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives.

(CSB)

A person’s steps are established by the LORD, and he takes pleasure in his way.

(NIV)

The LORD makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him

Spend a few extra minutes reading Nehemiah 8. The people of Israel are gathered together to read the Book of the Law of God, and Ezra explains it to them so they can understand. It's a beautiful passage. As you read, remember where our strength comes from. It is not from our own abilities, or gifts that the Lord gives us. The Lord God is our strength and our joy.

Commit your way to the Lord today and thank Him that you don’t have to carry the load on your own. He establishes you, firms and establishes your steps and takes pleasure in you as you give your abilities to Him in honour and worship. He walks with you.

Nehemiah 8:10 (NIV)

Nehemiah said, “Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”

Isaiah 55:12 (BSB)

You will indeed go out with joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands.
